The festival runs October 5-15th. This is the film’s world premiere. “Dreams I Never Had” is a film inspired by true events about a teenage girl that is smuggled and held captive as a domestic laborer and the illegal boy who rescues her that is deported.
“Dreams I Never Had” was filmed in Los Angeles, produced by Missing Peace Pictures, Inc. and stars the director and producer Iyad Hajjaj (as Sam Sahal), Malcolm McDowell (A Clockwork Orange, Halloween and The Artist) opposite actress Robin Givens (Head of the Class, Boomerang, God’s Not Dead 2 and Head of State). Iyad Hajjaj is the founder and Executive director of Missing Peace Pictures, Inc. He is most recognized from his work on Shooter (USA), Transparent (Amazon Original), Madam Secretary (CBS), The Brink (HBO) and Agent X (TNT), among others… “Dreams I Never Had”, A story by Lisa Savy and Iyad Hajjaj, was written by Lisa Savy, produced by Missing Peace Pictures, and script revisions were made by renowned writers George Saunders and Craig Stiles.
Dreams I Never Had comes at a perfect time, as it shows how undocumented people constantly live a fearful life. The film will also help promote awareness about the Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA).
