Elk Grove Village, IL, September 29, 2017 –(PR.com)– The Suparossa Restaurant Group, which includes Suparossa, Real Time Sports, Legno Chicago, Mia's Gelato, Pete's Pizza, Belvedere Events & Banquets, Cucina Biagio, and Biagio Events Events and Catering, has been focused on raising money for local charities for the past 21 years through their annual golf classic.
This year's event, held at the Fox Run Golf Course on September 28th, brought out over 75 golfers to support the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at the University of Chicago. At OCRF, they work every day to fund cures, foster community, further conversations and ultimately, the cause.
On a beautiful warm and sunny day, golfers and guests walked into Fox Run and were greeted by employees from various Suparossa Group establishments who gifted each golfer with a cooler filled with drinks and snacks from some of the day's sponsors. They were then taken to their golf carts and began golfing via a shotgun start. Various sponsors held contests at their respective holes to add a bit of excitement to the day – at one of the holes, golfers had the opportunity to try and win a Ford Mustang. At other holes, sponsors took donations to OCRF to win clothing and cash.
The many sponsors for this year's event included: The Score, Coalition for Better Government, Lagunitas, Delicity Cakes, Doctor Dogs, Lakeside Bank and more.
"In the beginning, we were donating to a variety of charities each year. When my mom was diagnosed with ovarian cancer, this became a bit more personal to me, and we chose to make the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund at the University of Chicago our official charity partner," explains owner Tom Cirrincione.
Post golf, everyone was invited to come back to Belvedere Events and Banquets for a cocktail party and buffet dinner as the winners of various raffles and contests were announced. There were additional opportunities to contribute to OCRF in the form of raffles and a silent auction, featuring signed memorabilia from the Chicago Cubs, Blackhawks and Chicago Bears. During dinner, members of Cirrincione family thanked people for attending and contributing to such an important cause. Tom and his son Ben concluded the evening by saying, "In the 21 years we have been doing this event, we have been able to donate over $250,000 thanks to your generosity."
